Professional characteristics

He has been working at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Education, Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica since 2021. From 2004 to 2021 he worked at the Department of Psychological Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences and Health, University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra, where he held the position of Vice-Dean for Education for eight years.

At the Department of Psychology, it provides teaching of subjects in the field of psychology and in the field of teaching psychology. He cooperates in organizing the Student Scientific and Professional Conference, where he acts as a member of an expert commission at the national and international level. He is also a member of the Council for the Internal Quality System of the MBU in the section of Social Sciences.

In his research and publishing activities, he has been involved in decision-making for more than 15 years. He has published scientific monographs and articles on the importance of personality and emotions for decision-making as well as career decision-making. In 2013, he was awarded the Rector's Award of the UKF with the monograph Personality and Emotions in Risk Decision-Making. He was the lead researcher of two VEGA projects dedicated to decision-making research and co-investigators of another five VEGA projects, one APVV project, two OPV projects and one ILP project. It was within the ILP project that he was a member of an international research team, the aim of which was to identify barriers that arise in the implementation of ESG standards at the institutional, national as well as international level in seven EU countries. From 2009 to 2016, he was the main organizer of a series of five international scientific conferences Decision-making in the context of cognition, personality and emotions.

He has completed long-term psychotherapeutic training in the Person Centered Approach (PCA) in Prague, training in the Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) in Olomouc, as well as other trainings such as Biofeedback, Focusing, 3rd. wave in CBT, and others. In the outpatient clinic of clinical psychology, as a psychologist, he deals with the psychotherapeutic activities of adolescents and adults. It also publishes scientific and professional articles on the effectiveness of humanistic psychotherapies in the treatment of mental disorders.
