The mission of the Centre for Educational Research at the PF MBU is to develop basic, applied and action-oriented research into school reality in its wider societal and cultural contexts. At the same time, it initiates and participates in organizing the creation and development of favourable conditions for the improvement of educational research at PF MBU. The role of the Centre is also to stimulate the continuous improvement of the quality of the research potential at the PF MBU and to mediate the scientific knowledge of the educational practice as a prerequisite for its development.

Since 2017, the Centre has been implementing a Doctoral School whose main idea is the creation of a long-term sustainable model of organizational form of education that will enable the quality of scientific and research activities of doctoral students in the social sciences to be continuously improved. In addition to research work, the Centre also performs consulting, advisory, expert and coordinating work for pedagogical and professional staff and PF MBU staff. The uniqueness of the Centre's workplace also underlines the provision of internships for university students.
