Professional characteristics

Mgr. Mária Hušlová Orságová, PhD, focuses her teaching, research and methodological work on inclusive approaches and supporting children with a different mother tongue.

She has more than seven years' teaching experience in pre-primary education, gained in various types of nursery schools, including work with children with special educational needs.

 

In 2026, she successfully defended her doctoral thesis entitled 'The Appropriateness of the Lexicon of Learning Tasks from the Perspective of Children's Socio-Cultural Experience', which she wrote under the supervision of Prof. PaedDr. Katarína Vančíková, PhD.

In addition to authoring educational and methodological materials for pre-primary education, she is currently providing methodological support for a pilot project on adaptation classes run by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic. As a member of the research team for a Slovak Research and Development Agency (APVV) project, she is also involved in producing specialist outputs in the field of teaching Slovak as a foreign language to children aged 5–8.

 

In the 2026/2027 academic year, she is working at the Department of Elementary and Pre-school Pedagogy as a research assistant and is involved in teaching the following modules:

  • Introductory Teaching Practice 1
  • Teachers' Professional Activities 1 – seminars
  • The Socio-Cultural Context of Education and Learning 1 – seminars
  • Education and Learning of Pupils with Special Educational Needs – practical sessions
