Professional characteristics
Lucia Galková has been working at the Faculty of Education of Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica since 2009. In her scientific research, teaching, and publishing activities, she primarily focuses on human rights issues, the prevention of socio-pathological phenomena, global education (service learning, the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award, mentoring, non-formal education), and professional internships. In 2009, she obtained a PhD in pedagogy.
As part of her further education, she has completed several courses and training programs and participated in three international internships. She has been involved in nine Slovak projects, once as a representative. She is the author and co-author of several scientific monographs, university textbooks, and teaching materials, as well as scientific studies published in both Slovak and international journals, scientific and conference proceedings, and other professional publications (see publication activity). These outputs have received 126 citations, including five indexed in citation databases.
She is an expert in the field of global education, law, and its application in both formal and non-formal education.
Since 2015, she has been part of the team implementing the service-learning strategy at Matej Bel University. Throughout her career, she has contributed to organizing various conferences, professional seminars, and events, which have allowed her to further develop her organizational skills and ability to collaborate with representatives of schools and educational institutions.
