Professional characteristics

Jana Vrťová is a graduate of Bachelor, Master and PhD. study of social work at the Faculty of Education of Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica.

From 2022, she works as a full-time assistant professor at the Department of Social Work of the Faculty of Education of the Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica.

 

In 2022, she defended her dissertation on the topic: Usability of approaches in supervision in social work, on the basis of which she was awarded a PhD. (for the dissertation, the Dean's Award of the Faculty of Education of UMB in BB was awarded to doc. PaedDr. Lenka Rovňanová, PhD.)

In 2021, she defended a rigorous thesis on the topic: Social work from the point of view of contemporary social criticism, on the basis of which she was awarded the title of PhDr.

In 2018, she defended her diploma thesis on the topic: The problem of justice in social policy and social work, on the basis of which she was awarded the M.Sc. (the Dean's Award of the UMB Faculty of Education in BB was awarded to Prof. PaedDr. Štefan Porubského, PhD.)

He teaches the following subjects:

- Philosophical and historical foundations of social work

- Theoretical foundations of social work

- Theory of social policy

- Socio-political contexts of social work

 

In his scientific and research activities, he focuses on the issues of supervision in social work, theories of social work, historical and philosophical origins of social work and theories of social policy.

 

Membership in organizations:

Since 2019, in addition to being a member of the Association of Social Work Educators, he has been acting as the administrator of the AVSP administrative agenda, primarily in matters related to the promotion and sale of the Social Work/Social Work magazine.

 

She was a co-researcher of the successful scientific project VEGA 1/0374/18 "Creating a model of organizational supervision as a specific form in the system of supervision in social work" (2018-2020), whose main researcher was Assoc. PhDr joined the function. Ladislav Vaska, PhD.
